A strong Muslim community preparing generations of leaders contributing to prosperity for all Canadians.

Financial Stewardship in Service of Community

The Al Rashid Investment Corporation exists to develop financially sustainable, socially responsible projects that serve the long-term needs of our community. Rooted in the Islamic tradition of awqāf (endowments), these initiatives are designed to generate stable income while addressing real, lived needs, particularly affordable housing for seniors and single-parent families. This is investment with purpose: assets that endure, support dignity, and strengthen the community for generations.

Our investment philosophy is guided by three core principles:

Financial Sustainability

Projects are structured to be financially viable and responsibly managed, ensuring long-term stability rather than short-term gain.

Community Benefit

Investments are selected based on their ability to meet essential needs, housing, security, and wellbeing, especially for those most vulnerable.

Islamic Stewardship (Awqāf)

Assets are held and managed as trusts for the community, ensuring ongoing benefit and alignment with ethical and Shariah-compliant principles.

Affordable Housing in Action

One of the most visible expressions of this work is the development and operation of apartment buildings adjacent to the mosque, functioning as affordable housing. These properties provide safe, stable homes for:
  • Seniors living on fixed incomes
  • Single mothers and single-parent families
  • Community members seeking proximity to faith, services, and support networks
By situating housing within a broader community ecosystem, residents benefit not only from affordability, but from connection, accessibility, and dignity.
