Canadian Islamic Seniors Society

Supporting Dignity, Connection, and Well-Being in Later Life
The Canadian Islamic Seniors Society exists to support seniors in Edmonton as they age with dignity, connection, and purpose. Rooted in faith and guided by care, the Society focuses on promoting the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being of older adults within our community.
Aging can bring both opportunities and challenges. The Seniors Society is committed to ensuring that elders remain connected, supported, and engaged, recognizing their wisdom, life experience, and ongoing contributions to family and community life.

Our Purpose

The mission of the Canadian Islamic Seniors Society is to promote the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being of seniors in Edmonton. This work is guided by a belief that healthy aging is supported not only through services, but through meaningful relationships, accessible programs, and culturally responsive care.
The Society’s mandate is to support seniors through inclusive and relevant programming, while building sustainable partnerships with seniors-serving organizations across the city. This collaborative approach allows seniors to access a broad range of support while remaining connected to community and faith.

Programs and Community Engagement

The Canadian Islamic Seniors Society offers a variety of programs and gatherings throughout the year designed to encourage connection, wellness, and lifelong engagement. These programs focus on social interaction, health and wellness, and intellectual and spiritual enrichment.
Activities are designed to reduce isolation, foster friendships, and create spaces where seniors feel valued and supported. Programs may include social gatherings, educational sessions, wellness-focused activities, and opportunities for spiritual reflection, responding to the diverse needs and interests of seniors at different stages of life.
